Nakheel, the property development company developing several high profile, innovative projects in Dubai, has announced that 100 per cent of the tower plots have been sold at Jumeirah Lake Towers, a high-rise waterfront commercial and residential development. Furthermore, construction work is well underway at the site, with the first developers laying foundations for towers on the plots they have acquired.
“We have seen a high demand for ambitious residential and commercial developments in Dubai and our projects has generated huge amounts of interest. Water is the unique theme behind Jumeirah Lake Towers. The entire project will be surrounded by lakes, waterways, waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes,” said Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, Nakheel. “Sea water will be pumped into the project’s waterways every day through underground pipes from the Arabian Gulf. This dynamic water-flow will ensure that the water does not become stagnant. Nakheel has once again redefined the concept of city living by providing a natural-feel to the area,” he added.
Plots on Jumeirah Lake Towers have been offered for purchase since last year. The project is open for investment to locals, GCC Nationals and people of all nationalities, residents and non-residents of Dubai. The plots are purchased on the provision that each investor will construct a tower on each plot, to be used for residential, commercial or retail purposes. Each property developer will adhere to strict Nakheel guidelines in order to maintain the theme and concept behind the project
“As Dubai is fast becoming the centre of business and tourism in the Middle East, Nakheel felt the need for a unique project that showcases the city’s innovative spirit. Jumeirah Lake Towers is the first series of high-rise waterfront commercial towers in Dubai. In addition to commercial towers, the project will also feature a number of residential towers. The project will be a convenient and fully-facilitated ultra-modern development with panoramic views and surroundings, making it the ideal place to live and work in the area,” said bin Sulayem.
Each plot available has a land area of 33m x 50m and is offered to the investor with freehold ownership. Developers can select from three types of towers; in the first type each tower will consist of 35 floors, within the second type every tower will comprise 40 floors and in the third the towers will have 45 floors each.
Jumeirah Lake Towers comprises of 26 clusters, with each cluster having three towers. The Feature Islands within the waterways will have restaurants, with community events being held throughout the year. In addition, an impressive 55-storey tower will be the centrepiece of the entire community and will house a hotel, a gold and diamond centre, which is managed by DMCC (Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre), further offices as well as serve as the corporate headquarters for the project.
“Nakheel is developing the infrastructure, landscaping, lakes and waterways as well as a superior road network. We will also be providing recreational and leisure facilities for residents, with miniature island clusters independently situated at different locations in the lakes, housing themed restaurants, entertainment and leisure facilities,” bin Sulayem added. “We offer a high-standard of living for residents in this, and all of our projects. Jumeirah Lake Towers will be an environment in which families can live, work and play, with leisure facilities and retail and commercial amenities within easy reach.”
The first developers to purchase plots have started construction work. Al Saba Tower and Fortune Tower have announced completion dates of December 2005. Each tower will consist of retail space as well as residential or commercial spaces that will house local and international retail companies.
