Dubai Marina is amongst the world's largest master planned waterfront development of its kind. The first building phase, which is over 2.7 million sq. ft, consists of 1,026 waterfront apartments in six high-rise towers and 64 luxury villas. The first three towers were successfully handed over in 2003. The Al Majara and Al Sahab Towers are scheduled for completion by end of December 2004.
The prospect of yachting and sailing offered by the Marina brings Dubai full circle back to its sea-faring roots. Dubai originally came to prominence as a trading hub, and traditional dhows still ply the coast as a constant reminder of the past. Now an old Dubai tradition is set to return in dashing new style.
