Arab Strategy Forum to Map Out Blueprint for 2020
Dubai: A ringing call for the Arab world to prepare itself for the future will be issued by analysts and decision-makers at the Arab Strategy Forum. The forum begins tomorrow.
The three-day gathering of some of the best minds in the world will map out a blueprint of the Arab world in 2020. It will suggest ways that the Arab world can better integrate itself into the global economic, social and political fabric.
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence, will set the tone for the forum in his opening address.
Shaikh Mohammad will ask the region to abandon its complacency, and confront the challenges before it.
Shaikh Mohammad's opening address will be followed by a keynote speech by former US President Bill Clinton.
"We very much look forward to hearing what globally respected thinkers have to say about the future of our region. What we learn from them will help and assist us in developing a blueprint that will lead us into a future of prosperity and wellbeing for all," said Mohammad Al Gergawi, chairman of the Arab Strategy Forum's organising committee.
"President Clinton, along with other heads of states, premiers, ministers, top policy-makers, global corporate heads, senior management of civil society organisations and global institutions, experts, academics and influential opinion-makers, are gathering together to provide insights into the Arab world and how it fits into a global context," he said.
